Padpilot is the next generation of learning system for ATPL theory studies and other pilot related courses. The system
can be used very effectively in both the Integrated and Modular course environments, including distance or self-paced
learning elements.
The key feature of Padpilot is mobility. By downloading all course material onto an iPad students can study where and
when they like. This is completely in tune with the new wave of learners who no long wish or expect to be tied to a
desktop computer when studying.
All our course material is specially formatted and uses highly optimised screen fonts for maximum clarity and readability.
Using the iPad’s stunning screen and video playback capabilities we bring to life many of the dullest theoretical ideas
with full screen video animations and teaching sequences.
Padpilot also avoids the old, and now largely discredited, Computer Based Training format. Recent academic research
now backs up what pilots have known for many years; CBT learning is superficial and doesn’t promote long term retention
of knowledge. Padpilot returns to the traditional concepts of reading, taking notes and practising – albeit within a carefully
guided and monitored environment.
Document layering and different presentations of the material in portrait and landscape views further helps to promote
learning by taking into account different learning styles.
Our Internet-based Management and Reporting System (i-MRS) system also provides new assessment methods previously
only seen in very high end learning and content management systems. Every progress test taken by the student is dynamically
assembled from a pool of questions. Each question can be drawn from one of three categories:
• Factual: which tests the student’s recall of essential facts.
• Skill: which test the student’s mastery of key skills such as calculation, plotting and the use of the navigation computer.
To assist classroom teaching we also provide on licence, complete access to our catalogue of stunning 2D and 3D images and
animations which you can embed in PowerPoint or keynote presentations for classroom delivery.
Finally for those schools who still wish to use print media, all our course material is available in A4 print format.
